2. Description of the Service
ProteinMenuScanner allows users to upload one to three restaurant menu photos, menu-board photos, takeout menus, or menu screenshots and receive AI-generated ranked menu choices with estimated protein ranges.
The service includes:
- Image analysis using artificial intelligence.
- Up to three likely high-protein menu choices based on visible menu information.
- Estimated protein ranges and short explanations.
- A saved scan history.
- A usage-limited access model.
- Optional rewarded advertisements for continued use.
ProteinMenuScanner is not a medical, dietetic, nutritional, allergy, food-safety, or healthcare service.
3. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Upload only images you have the right to use.
- Use the App only for lawful purposes.
- Not upload illegal, harmful, exploitative, intimate, confidential, or inappropriate content.
- Not misuse the service or attempt to bypass usage limits or restrictions.
- Use your own judgment before ordering food or making diet, nutrition, allergy, or health-related decisions.
- Verify ingredients, allergens, portions, preparation methods, and nutrition information directly with the restaurant.
You are responsible for the content you submit and for any actions you take based on the App's output.
4. Content Restrictions
We may refuse to process images that:
- Do not contain a visible restaurant menu, menu board, takeout menu, or menu screenshot.
- Do not show enough readable information to make a meaningful comparison.
- Are too blurred, dark, obstructed, cropped, or low resolution to analyze.
- Contain personal, confidential, payment, illegal, harmful, or inappropriate information.
- Otherwise violate these Terms.
We reserve the right to block or reject content at our discretion to maintain safe and appropriate use of the service.
5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The feedback provided by the App is generated by artificial intelligence.
- Results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or based on limited visible menu information.
- Protein ranges are estimates unless exact nutrition information is clearly visible in the submitted menu.
- The App may misunderstand item names, ingredients, portions, substitutions, or preparation methods.
- The feedback is for informational and convenience purposes only.
- It is not medical advice, nutrition counseling, allergy advice, diagnosis, treatment, food-safety advice, or a personalized diet plan.
- The App cannot guarantee that a menu item is suitable for your body, health needs, allergies, medical conditions, medications, dietary restrictions, or personal goals.
You should not rely on ProteinMenuScanner as your only source for important food, diet, nutrition, allergy, or health decisions. Always verify information directly with the restaurant. If you have medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy-related needs, diabetes, eating disorder history, or other health concerns, consult a qualified professional before changing your diet.
6. No Guarantees
We do not guarantee that:
- The App will identify the highest-protein menu item correctly.
- Protein estimates will match the restaurant's actual recipe, portion, ingredients, or preparation method.
- The App will identify all allergens, cross-contamination risks, dietary restrictions, nutrition issues, or food-safety concerns.
- Any menu choice will be suitable for your individual circumstances.
- The App will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Menu descriptions may omit important information, and restaurant recipes and portions may change.
7. Credits, Free Uses, and Rewarded Ads
The App may include free monthly uses, credits, or other usage limits.
After free uses are exhausted, additional menu scans may be unlocked by watching rewarded advertisements where available.
Credits, free uses, and rewarded-ad availability may change at any time. We may refuse, revoke, or adjust credits where necessary to prevent abuse, fraud, technical errors, or misuse.
8. Your Content
You retain any rights you have in images you submit.
By submitting content, you grant us the limited rights needed to process the content, generate results, operate the App, provide history and support features, maintain security, and enforce these Terms.
You must not submit content that you do not have permission to use.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process data. By using the App, you acknowledge that data will be processed as described in the Privacy Policy, including processing by third-party providers such as OpenAI and Google Mobile Ads where applicable.
10. Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party services, including AI processing providers, hosting providers, analytics or monitoring tools, and advertising providers.
Those services may have their own terms, policies, and processing practices. We are not responsible for third-party services except as required by applicable law.
11. Prohibited Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, attack, overload, scrape, or interfere with the App or backend.
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, billing rules, ad reward verification, moderation, or security controls.
- Use the App for illegal, harmful, deceptive, or abusive purposes.
- Submit content that infringes rights or violates law.
- Use outputs as medical advice, nutritional advice, allergy advice, food-safety advice, or as a substitute for restaurant information or expert judgment.
12. Changes and Availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for loss of health, property, data, profits, goodwill, diet outcomes, food decisions, dining costs, or opportunities arising from use of the App.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, create risk for the service or others, or where required by law.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights that may apply in your country of residence.
